Marionette Line / Mesolabial Fold Fillers

Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Versa

One of the most common areas of the face that patients seek Dr. Azzi out for revision work after fillers from another provider are the folds around the lower part of the corners of the mouth called the melolabial folds (MLF), also known as marionette lines

The reason for poor results in this area can vary, but the most common is the attempted correction of a gravity problem with a volume solution such as fillers (Radiesse, Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Versa, Voluma) or fat grafting.

Dr. Azzi is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon and always follows his "triad of aging" philosophy when addressing facial rejuvenation. This allows him to achieve natural aging face results using either plastic surgery or injectable fillers and Botox. The Melolabial Folds typically result from the cheek deep structures falling secondary to gravity. This creates a deep fold at the lower corner of the mouth. The best solution for this problem typically is not Radiesse, Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane or any other filler, but the tightening of the cheek using a deep-plane facelifting technique in the office. This helps address the drooping cheeks and jawline and smooths the fold out naturally.

For a select number of patients, the issue IS volume and can be corrected naturally using the correct fillers such as Radiesse, Juvederm, Restylane or Versa.
