Wake Up Your Eyes with an Eyelid Lift

Tired of looking tired? You’re not alone. “Patients often tell me that their outward appearance does not match how they feel inside,” said Dr. Jean-Paul Azzi, an expert in facial rejuvenation. In many cases, the “tired” appearance can be attributed primarily to the eye area, whether it’s droopy eyelids, puffy undereyes or dark circles.

The most effective way to “wake up” or “open” the eyes is by surgically removing excess skin and fat around the eyes causing the puffiness or sagging. Blepharoplasty (BLEF-uh-roe-plas-tee), more commonly known as an eyelid lift, is one of the most common procedures performed by Dr. Azzi at The Palm Beach Center for Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery, located in Jupiter and Palm City, Florida. “The goal is not to look different -- just rested, natural, younger and more beautiful,” said Dr. Azzi, who prides himself on providing his patients with the most advanced, up-to-date, natural, long-lasting results in facial plastic surgery.

Eyelid surgery can be performed on the upper eyelids, the lower eyelids or both. In simple terms, small incisions are made in the eyelids and any loose/excess skin or fat is removed. The incisions are then closed with very fine, tiny stitches. Blepharoplasty surgery is performed right in the office using local anesthesia. The procedure takes around 40 minutes and is painless for the patient, both during and after. There is the possibility of slight discoloration from bruising, typically for 5 to 7 days, that can be covered up with make-up.

After an eyelid lift, patients can expect a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Blepharoplasty can improve the loose skin, bags and puffiness around your eyes. Some people have even reported that their field of vision has improved after an eyelid lift.

Although an eyelid lift is a more permanent solution, many patients can realize significant improvements with just a few simple injections. At your consultation, Dr. Azzi will recommend the best solution for your individual situation.

We invite you to schedule a complimentary blepharoplasty consultation with Dr. Azzi at The Palm Beach Center for Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery. During your consultation, Dr. Azzi will take the time to understand your goals and explain which technique or procedure best suits your goals and anatomy. He will also explain what can be realistically achieved with an upper blepharoplasty and lower blepharoplasty.
