Facial cosmetic procedures and treatments are growing in popularity every year, and with the evolution of technology and medicine, not every procedure means going under the knife.
This is especially true for patients unhappy with their nose.
First, let's discuss surgical rhinoplasty. Full rhinoplasty calls for general anesthesia and incisions in/around the nose. Surgical tools are used to reshape the bones and cartilage beneath the skin to create the new shape and appearance. After rhinoplasty surgery, the patient may experience some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort.
What is a Liquid Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)?
A liquid nose job uses injectable dermal fillers placed under the skin of the nose – and through expert placement, doctors are able to even out bumps and balance asymmetry. There is zero recovery time, only a tiny bit of pain from the needle pricks, and there is no need for any type of anesthesia.
Liquid rhinoplasty, or liquid nose jobs, are on the rise as they’re a non-surgical option for those looking to tweak the shape and appearance of their nose. A Liquid Nose Job is quite different from traditional rhinoplasty in multiple ways, and not just because results are immediate.
Another patient favorite is the fact that a liquid nose job costs a mere fraction of the price when compared to a traditional rhinoplasty.
Not all patients are great candidates for a liquid nose job, though. This procedure is really best for patients who want to make minor changes to their nose, or to refine the results of a previous surgical rhinoplasty.
Other patients may be interested in full surgical rhinoplasty and want to get a better idea of what their nose would look like after the procedure.
One caveat is that unlike a surgical nose job, a liquid nose job cannot make a nose smaller and cannot address breathing problems. Additionally, a liquid nose job is not permanent the way a surgical nose job is. Injectables typically last anywhere from six months to a full year – of course, you can always have new filler injected to replace anything that’s worn off.
