How to Make Your Nose Look Better

Everyone has insecurities about the way they look, and for many people, it’s their nose.

The nose is the most prominent and protruding structure of the face sitting directly between the eyes. It’s a focal point. It is supposed to provide symmetry and facial balance…unless, of course, it doesn’t…which is probably why you’re here.

What are some common nose complaints?

· Oversized in general

· Crooked

· Bulbous tip

· Pointy or beak-like

· Dorsal hump

· Wide bridge

· Flat nose

· Asymmetrical sides

· Flaring nostrils

· Turned down (droopy) tip

…and more undesirable characteristics that make us feel insecure.

For all of these, there are options.

MAKEUP

One option that doesn’t require a visit to a doctor is to use makeup to contour the nose into the shape and width you want. Contouring is a makeup technique used to enhance the structure of the face. In most cases, contouring the nose can make it appear smaller and more narrow. The application of light concealer down the center of the nose, and a darker shade of powder or cream down the sides of the nose and a little blending can help you achieve your desired look. Google “nose contouring techniques” and you will find a treasure trove of endless tutorials.

LIQUID NOSE JOB

If makeup doesn’t do the job, you don’t necessarily need a full-blown rhinoplasty. A liquid rhinoplasty, or liquid nose job, uses the injection of dermal fillers to alter the shape of the nose. This is an excellent option for those who have deformities like asymmetries or a dorsal hump. This option is not permanent, with results typically lasting between six months and two years.

RHINOPLASTY

The final option is the traditional rhinoplasty. This surgical procedure is often referred to simply as a nose job. A rhinoplasty procedure can fix the shape and size of the nose and can also be used to help with breathing issues. Unlike the first two options, rhinoplasty requires a bit more recovery time – typically 7-10 days with some bruising/swelling. The results are permanent.
